Project Overview
Oswald Kienbacher GmbH has established itself on the European market as a supplier of filter elements for the filtration of liquid media in the field of vehicle air conditioning.
We currently supply approximately 16.7 million units per year in this sector – comprising an average of 25 million components – to our customers Modine (Daimler, VW) and MAN. As globalisation progresses, there is a growing need to ensure a high degree of flexibility (variant production) whilst maintaining global supply.
Through various benchmark projects carried out by our customers, we know that global supply from Austria can be operated economically. This is also confirmed by the increasing number of enquiries from various automotive suppliers (Estra-Automotive, Mahle Behr) regarding our products. Specifically, a BMW contract has been secured, with production set to start in 2021.
The innovation of this production line is that the filter fabric is processed in a singleoperation, whilst 100% quality control is carried out without any loss of cycle time. Currently, two separate work steps are required for this scope of work.
With the planned facility, we aim to increase sales by 30 per cent over the next five years, which corresponds to projected additional revenue of approximately €0.8 million per year in this segment.
